India's Arvind Bhat has entered the semi-finals of the Men's Singles in the New Zealand Open badminton tournament. In the quarterfinal of the 50,000 Dollar Grand Prix event at Auckland today, the fifth seeded Indian defeated third seeded Chun Seang Tan of Malaysia in three games 22-20, 9-21, 21-18. Arvind Bhat will face Top Seeded Jen Hao Hsu of Chinese Taipei in the last four stage.Meanwhile, another Indian, Sourabh Verma, bowed out of the Men's Singles at the pre-quarterfinal stage, after losing to Kuei Chun Shih of Chinese Taipei in straight games.
