India will take on Qatar in its opening match in the 17th Asian Senior Men's Vollyball championship in Dubai today. The opening match between India and Uzbekistan yesterday was cancelled because of rearrangements in the groups following dropping out of the tournament by four teams from Pakistan, Indonesia, Jordan and Libya. If India wins, it will make it straight make it to the quarter finals.In a group match at Al Nasr Club on Saturday, Srilanka beat Oman in straight sets 25-19,25-18 and 25-21. In all 21 teams including India , hosts UAE, the reigning champion Iran and runner-ups China along with Thailand ,Korea and Australia are participating in the tournament. Defending champions Iran and the runners up China are hot favorites to win the tournament having already qualified for the World Cup in Poland this year.
