Three more national records were created in the last day of the National Inter Zone Junior Athletic Meet concluded on Tuesday at Kochi. Gayatri Siva Kumar and Jessy Joseph of Kerala created national records in high jump under 14 and 800 meters under 18, while Parul of Uttar Pradesh broke the national record in 2000 meters steeple chase under 20. With these, the national records created in the meet reached six. 14 meet records were also created in the last three days. Its interesting to note that girls created all the three national records in the concluding day, while only boys created national records in the past tow days. Tamil Nadu team bagged the overall championship, when the meet concluded this evening at Kochi. Host team of Kerala performed well in the last day and captured second position, while Maharasthra reach third in the overall medal tally.
