In Assam, a total of 529 candidates filed their nomination papers for the first phase of Assembly elections scheduled to be held on 4th of next month in 62 constituencies spread over 13 districts. Election Commission sources in Guwahati said that on the last day, 357 nominations were submitted. Thursday was the last day of filing nominations for the first phase of polls. The scrutiny of nominations will be held today. The last date of withdrawal of nominations has been fixed on the 21st of this month
