The Indo-Canadian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Daniel Nestor and the Indo-American duo of Rohan Bopanna and Rajeev Ram have advanced into the Men's Doubles second round of the Australian Open Tennis tournament at Melbourne. In their opening round match today, fifth seeds Bhupathi and Nestor defeated the Spanish duo of Pablo Andujar and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, while Bopanna and Ram beat the Aussie team of Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios, 6-2, 6-4. However, India's Somdev Devvarman crashed out of the Men's Singles section. Jerzy Janowicz of Poland edged past Somdev, in a five set game, 6-7, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, 7-5 in the second round. In the Women's Doubles, the Indo-American duo of Sania Mirza and Bethanie Mattek-Sands bowed out, after losing to the Spanish pair of Silvia Soler-Espinosa and Carla Suarez Navarro, 6-7, 3-6 in the first round.
