India's star player P Kashyap has won the men's single title in Syed Modi International India Gold Grand Prix Badminton Championship in Lucknow toady. He snatched the victory from his Thai rival Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in a very struggling match of three sets, winning it by 21-19, 14-21 and 21-17. Whereas India's ace shuttler and world number 24 PV Sindhu, today lost in the women's single final to her Indonesian rival Lindaweni Fanetri by 21-15, 18-21 and 21-18 .In men's double final, it was all Korean affair, as Sung Hyun Ko and Yong Dae Lee defeated their own compatriots- Ji Wook Kang and Sang Joon Lee in straight sets by 21-13, 21-19. Whereas in the mixed doubles final, Indonesian Fran Kurniawan and Shendy Puspa Irawati defeated Thai duo Nipitphon Puangpuapeh and Savitri Amitrapal in straight sets by 21-12, 24-22.AIR correspondent reports, it was a dream come true for London quarter finalist P Kashyap who out shined his Thai opponent. First set was quite easy for Kashyap but Saensomboonsuk made a wonderful comeback in the second set which compelled Kashyap to play to his full potential.In the final set Kashyap kept his opponent at the toes and won the final match along with winning millions of Indian hearts. While in women's single category, P.V Sindhu kept struggling from the onset of the tournament. Though she made an emphatic return in the second set but due to her continuous unforced errors she could not take a lead in the final set despite some of her best strokes.
