The World Archery Federation (FITA) has recognised elections held by the Archery Association of India (AAI) and extended full support to it. In a letter to the AAI President Vijay Kumar Malhotra, FITA's Secretary General Tom Dielen said that the world body approves of the election process and fully recognises the newly elected body of the association. Dielen also said that the World Archery Federation has already informed the International Olympic Committee (IOC) about this decision. It is worth to recall that the AAI was de-recognised by the Sports Ministry saying that the Federation did not conform to the Sports Code of the Government while holding its election.
