England were comfortably placed in the 3rd test in Kolkata leading India by 193 runs. Skipper Alstair Cook's brilliant 190 and Jonathan Trott's 87 helped the visitors end Day 3 at 509 for 6 in reply to India's 316. India also struck as 5 English wickets fell during the day.
