Grandmaster and Asian Champion Parimarjan Negi has continued his excellent run in the Leiden International chess tournament in the Netherlands. In the seventh round, Negi defeated Grandmaster Vegeny Vorobiov of Russia and held on to the joint lead spot. Negi took his tally to six points out of a possible seven. The Indian star now shares the lead with David Howell of England with just two rounds to come. Grandmaster S Arun Prasad also came good to beat Michal Luch of Poland. Arun Prasad is in sole third spot on 5.5 points.Grandmasters M.R.Lalith Babu and M.S. Kidambi have now bowed out of contention with defeats in the latest round. For the records, Babu has 4.5 points while Kidambi is on just four points.
