A high level CEO's mission led by President of the Confederation of Indian Industry Mr. Adi met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Adviser for International Affairs Dr. Gohwer Rizvi on Saturday in Dhaka.The discussions during the meeting were focused on identifying opportunities and steps that need to be taken to promote bilateral investment and trade between India and Bangladesh.The CII Delegation which arrived in Dhaka on Sunday on a three day tour to Bangladesh also visited the Dhaka Export processing zone in the morning following which the delegation members also had separate business to business meetings with Bangladeshi business persons.Talking to reporters in Dhaka, CII President Mr. Adi Godrej said that there is a lot of potential for Indian companies to invest in Bangladesh which is a growing consumer market and is also witnessing a strong economic growth.He also emphasized the need for both Bangladesh business persons to take advantage of the business opportunities which are possible due to the geographical location of the country especially in relation with India's North Eastern states.Mr. Godrej added that there is a lot of potential for Indian companies to invest in Bangladesh like infrastructure, power, oil and gas, health and agriculture based industries.
