Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said that the passenger traffic of airlines has grown at the rate of 17 to 18 per cent in the last few years. He told the Rajya Sabha today that the fleet of the commercial airlines is expected to touch approximately 1000 aircraft in 2020. The Minister, said projected number of new aircraft required in the next ten years will depend upon various factors including growth of passenger traffic and foreign tourist arrivals.
