India's lone hope, ace shuttler Saina Nehwal takes on Xuerui Li of China in the women's singles quarter-final of Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships in Birmingham today. Fourth seed Saina reached the quarters on Thursday with a straight game victory against Pi Hongyan of France 21-10, 21-17. Earlier, it took just 30 minutes for Qing Tian and Yunlei Zhao of China to quall the Indian challenge of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa 21-10, 21-15 in the women's doubles second round. Late on Wednesday night, men's singles shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Ajay Jayaram, the women's singles qualifier P.V.Sindhu and men's doubles team of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas crashed out of the tournament. The pair of V.Diju and Jwala Gutta also failed to get past the first round in the mixed doubles.
