In the Australian Open Tennis tournament at Melbourne, India's Sania Mirza and her Russian partner Elena Vesnina today crashed out of the Women's Doubles category, after losing in the semi-finals. The sixth seeded Indo-Russian pair lost to the Russian duo of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Vera Zvonareva, 6-7, 6-2, 4-6.Meanwhile, in the Men's Doubles, the Indo-Czech combine of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek today waltzed into the semi-finals, beating the American-Brazilian combine of Eric Butorac and Bruno Soares, 6-4, 7-6.The Indian challenge is yet to play in the quarterfinals and pre-quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles category today. In the quarterfinals, the Indian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza will clash with the English-American combine of Colin Fleming and Liezel Huber, while in the pre-quarterfinals, the Indo-Russian pair of Leander Paes and Elena Vesnina will take on Marcin Matkowski of Poland and his partner from Chinese Taipie Su-Wei Hsieh.
