National Senior Weight Lifting Championship began on Saturday at Brhampur in Odisha.Around 350 lifters are participating in both men and women category. Local MLA Shri Ramesh Chandra Chaupattnayak inaugurated the five-day long champianship.While players like Chandrakant Mali, Vadi Velu, Ramesh Babu are competing in the men's section, Sonia Chanu, Suman Bala, Chhaya Devi, Sagita Chanu and Suman Bala are in the women' category.One of the endangered species Blackbug has been choosen as the Mascot for the game.In the 48Kg Women category Sonia Chanu of Uttar Pradesh won Gold in clean and jerk.
