India were held to a 1-1 draw by a spirited Afghanistan in their opening Group-A match of the SAFF Football Championship in New Delhi today. Balal Arezo stunned the hosts when he fired in a volley from inside the box just four minutes into the match. India's star striker Sunil Chhetri cancelled out the lead six minutes later with a clean header off a Steven Dias corner.Pakistan started the ninth SAFF championship yesterday with a goalless draw against Bangladesh in Group B. The second match between Maldives and Nepal ended in a One-One Draw.
