Indian judokas have notched up an impressive tally of a gold, four silver and two bronze medals in the Asian Youth and Junior Championships. The events were held from September 28 to October 3 in Beirut, Lebanon.Likmabam Sushila Devi became the Asian Champion by bagging gold in the below 52 kg category. Shushila was also awarded the Best Judo Player trophy of the event. Shushila is the gold-medallist of the Commonwealth Judo Championships held last year in Singapore and the bronze-medalist of the 2009 Asian Youth Judo Championships in Yemen.B.R. Sangeeta, the junior national champion, won the silver medal in the above 63kg Category.In the 12th Asian Junior Championships, Indian Judokas won three silver and two bronze medals. Indian team finished runner-up in the girls section.
