Indian pugilist Devendro Singh Laishram has stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of the Men's 46-49 kilogram light weight category at the AIBA World Boxing Championships in Azerbaijan. Laishram defeated Mexican Joselito Velazquez Altamirano 40-19 in the second round bout, a short while ago.Other Indian pugilists Akhil Kumar, Jai Bhagwan and Manpreet Singh will also box their second round bouts in respective categories today. Akhil Kumar will take on John Joe Nevin of Ireland in the Men's 56 kilogram Bantamweight category, while Manpreet Singh will meet Dzhakon Qurbanov of Tajikistan in the 91 kilogram heavy weight category. In the 60 kilogram light weight section, Jai Bhagwan will box Miroslav Serban of Czechoslovakia.
