India's trade of eleven billion dollars with South Africa is a gate way to the African continent for trade and investment. Talking to AIR, the High Commissioner to Pretoria Mr. Virendra Gupta said that trade with South Africa is robust, with Coal imports itself accounting for 1.5 billion dollars. He said India imports strategic minerals, pharmaceutical products and potash, which is used in fertilizers in agricultural sector. Mr Gupta said this is a platform for the IBSA countries to foster strong trilateral economic cooperation which will enhance the South-South cooperation.AIR correspondent adds that Minister for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Anand Sharma is leading the Indian delegation at the IBSA Business Forum. IBSA Trade Ministers will also have a trilateral meeting during the summit.
