The 51st Edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) gets underway in Panji, Goa tommorrow. The festival will showcase best of the movies from across the globe during 16th January to 24th January 2021.<br />” <br />”Opening ceremony will be held on 16th January in presence of Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shri Prakash Javadekar. This year IFFI has been organised in hybrid manner due Covid19 pandemic. It means that there will be physical and virtual screening of films. The life time achievement award will be given to the leading cinematographer Vittorio Storaro at the opening ceremony.<br />” <br />”Correspondent Tushar Jadhav from Panaji reports:<br />” <br />”Question 1.-"What are the preparations for the 51st Edition of IFFI in Goa ?"<br />”Answer- "Preparations are in full swing here in Panaji city. Inauguration of iffi 2021 would be held in Shyamaprasad Stadium Bambolim and the stage is all set ready for the inaugural event. Event this time being of hybrid form, there are restrictions owing to pandemic covid 19."<br />” <br />”Q.2. How many films will be screened in this edition ? <br />”Answer- "Around 200 films will be screened this year in various sections"<br />” <br />”Q3. What are the new features at IFFI in Goa this year ?<br />”Answer-"This year IFFI is being organised in hybrid form which includes physical as well as virtual platform. Further OTT platform is being extensively used."<br />” <br />” Q4.Tell us something about the acclaimed movies which will be screened at IFFI ?. Especially given the fact that Bangladesh is the country in focus & legendary film maker Satyajit Ray's films are being screened this time<br />”Answer4- "Well, tributes would be paid to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. All are inquisitive to watch his famous films like Charulata and so on. Film enthusiasts are also eager to watch Only human by Igor Ivanov, The Audition by Ina Weisse and many other films."<br />” <br />”Q5. Tell us about the foreign movies being screened in the Kaleidoscope section ?<br />” Answer5- "12 foreign films that will be screened under the Kaleidoscope section. Every year well chosen films are included in this category. Three films from France have made it to the section, including Night of the Kings."<br />” <br />”Q6. The jury this times consists of big names including Priyadarshan from India.
