The 51st Athletics Championship, came to an end at the Yuvabharti Krirangan in Kolkata today. The Railways were the overall champion with 17 gold, 13 silver and 8 bronze medals. ONGC got the second position with eight gold, five silver and four bronze medals. The Railways were champion in both the men's and women's section. The men's best athlete was Arpinder Singh and the women's best athlete was Mayooka Jhony. One national record was made in the 110 metre hurdles by the ONGC with the timing of 13.77 seconds. The West Bengal State Governor Mr. M.K.Narayanan distributed the prizes.
