Kerala became the overall champion in the National Senior Inter-State Athletics Championship which concluded in Bangalore last evening. Kerala also won the men's and women's team titles and won a total of 13 gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals for the overall honours. Asian Games gold medallist of Uttar Pradesh won the gold in women's 3000 meter steeplechase. Amritpal Singh of Punjab won gold in the men's long jump. Tintu Luka of Kerala came first in the women's race while her statemate Sajesh Joseph won the gold in men's race. Tamilnadu's Surendhar won the gold in the men's 110 meters hurdles while Kerala girl M.M Anchu won the women's 100 meter hurdles.
