The country's apparel exports grew by about 13 per cent, to 1 billion dollars in April 2011, compared to the same month last year, due to strong demand from the US and European markets. According to data provided by the Apparel Export Promotion Council, garments exports had grown 4.4 per cent, to 11.1 billion dollars during 2010-11. The US and Europe together account for about 65 per cent of India's total garment exports.
