Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma on Sunday called on the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka. The two leaders discussed various bilateral issues related to trade and economic relations. Mr. Anand Sharma has left for Delhi on the conclusion of his two day visit to Bangladesh. During his stat in Dacca, he met his Bangladeshi counterpart Faruk Khan and also held delegation-level talks. He also held discussions with the Bangladesh Food and Disaster Management Minister Dr. Abdur Razzaque and Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni. During his discussions Mr. Anand Sharma stressed on the need for further strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He said that Indian private sector companies are in the process of making investments worth 3.5 billion US dollars which would generate employment in Bangladesh and also facilitate value addition for Bangladesh exports to the rest of the world.
