Nigeria says there are enough opportunities for Indian companies to invest in gas sector. Addressing the 5th India-Nigeria Joint Commission meeting in New Delhi, the Foreign Minister of Nigeria H. Odein Ajumogobia said that a gas master plan is being prepared by his government to exploit enormous gas reserves in that country. He held extensive discussions with his Indian counterpart Mr. S. M. Krishna and the two agreed to strengthen economic relationship further. During his stay in Delhi he had meetings with Commerce and Industry Minister, Petroleum Minister and stressed on the need to identify fresh areas of cooperation. He had exchange of views with the captains of Indian industry and urged them to invest more in the areas of telecommunication and health in Nigeria. Bilateral pacts in the fields of pharmaceuticals were also signed during his visit. The pacts will promote mutual trade in good quality drugs besides enable education, training and capacity building in the health sector.
