The Finance Minister has said that this year the revenue growth has been 29.4%. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee said, this happened mainly because of structural changes that the Government has brought in for augmenting and generating more revenue through various measures. Mr. Mukherjee said that the structural changes has been brought by using the technological platform and information technology. On the stimulus packages given to the industry earlier during international recession, the Finance Minister pointed out that the economy has bounced back. He said, it has registered 8.6% growth and this year's growth has been projected at 9.9%. He opined that taking this into account, there is no need to provide stimulus. The Finance Minister asserted that there is a need to attract more investment from abroad and from domestic side and that is why the excise duty has not been increased. He said, his object is to enhance investment and encourage savings. On agricultural reforms, the Minister said that there is a huge gap between the demand and supply and the farmers' produces need to be augmented through various measures.
