The Indian women's kabaddi team completed a memorable Asian Games debut by clinching the gold medal with a comprehensive win over Thailand in the finals in Guangzhou today. They beat Thailand 28-14 in a dominating performance to clinch the inaugural women's kabaddi gold of the Asian Games.This takes the Indian gold count to eleven, just four short of the highest haul of 15 Gold in the first Asian Games. India has now moved to seventh spot in the overall standings. With the men's kabaddi teams keeping themselves on course for the coveted gold and star pugilist Vijender Singh and two other boxers eying gold medals, India is hoping for a top-five finish. Meanwhile, China maintained their supremacy atop the medals table; South Korea and Japan occupy the second and third positions.
