Roger Federer beat Czech Tomas Berdych 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 in a thriller last night to reach to the semi-finals of the Toronto Masters Ternnis. Having already beaten Federer twice this season, the towering Czech again appeared to have the Swiss' measure when he powered his way to a 5-2 lead in the third set. But a relentless Federer refused to fold, finally getting the break he needed with Berdych serving for the match at 5-3. But in tiebreak Federer jump ahead 4-0 then hang on to clinch the victory 7-5.In another match, Andy Murray brushed aside in-form David Nalbandian 6-2, 6-2 to ease into the semi-finals.World number one Rafa Nadal, playing in his first event since winning Wimbledon last month, defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semi.Canadian Novak Djokovic also had smooth passage into the last four beating France's Jeremy Chardy 6-2, 6-3.
