The Sports Minister M S Gill today asserted in the Parliament that 16 of the 18 venues for the Commonwealth Games are "complete". Replying to a question, Gill said, "Most of the sports venues have been constructed and Test events held at the venues. He said that the remaining venues are in advanced stage of completion and will be completed well in time for the Games. An amount of 4460 crore rupees has been approved for upgradation, renovation or creation of sports infrastructure. The Minister added that the Yamuna Sports Complex would be completed by August 15, while the pending work at the JN stadium would done with in the next couple of days.
