Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said that inflation is expected to drop to a comfortable zone by December end. He told reporters that good Moon soon Rains have eased concerns over monsoon performance this year. He said that economic growth rate will be good and cut of fiscal deficit to below 5.5% of gross domestic product in 2010-11. He said that the plan panel has begun preliminary exercise to draft 12th Five-Year-Plan. He told a conference on infrastructure in New Delhi that the National Development Council, which meets on 24 of July to approve mid-term appraisal of the 11th Five-Year Plan. He said that it will also discuss the problem faced in implementing public-private partnership projects in the road sector. Mr. Ahluwalia said infrastructure spending is to be doubled in the 12th Five-Year Plan to one trillion US dollars from 500 billion dollars in the 11th Five-Year Plan ending.
