Defending champion Viswanathan Anand scored a rampaging victory over challenger Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria in the fourth game to grab the lead in the 12-game World Chess Championship being held in Sofia. Anand who played with white, now leads the points table by 2.5-1.5 margin. The Indian ace has two wins to one over Topalov while one game ended in a draw. This was Topalov's second loss on the trot with the black. The fifth game of the 12 round duels between the two is scheduled for Friday. In some other good news for the Indian Sports, boxers Shiva Thapa and J.Bhaskar notched up contrasting wins to advance to the pre-quarter finals of the World Youth Championships in Baku in Azerbaijan. Shiva defeated England's Qais Ashfaq 4-1 and Bhaskar out-slugged Iran's Armin Amjadian 12-4 to enter the last 16 stage. Both of them are now just two wins away from booking a berth in the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore.The World T20 Championship starts in West Indies tomorrow. Before the start of the tournament, Australia suffered two major blows. Pace bowler Brett Lee has been ruled out of the tournament after straining an arm-muscle in the warm up match against Zimbabwe which Kangroos lost by one run. New Zealand will take on Sri Lanka in the first game of the event. India will start its campaign on Saturday with the match against Afghanistan.
