50k youths to be engaged in govt., announces J&K CM

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today announced that 50,000 youths will be engaged by the government within next few months in the state. In his address to the people on the eve of the Independence Day Abdullah said economic development is an essential component for the well-being of the state and its people and so it could not be ignored. Also the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has constituted C Rangarajan committee to address the employment problem in Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of the holy day of Ramdhan. He said during the last 18 months, his Government besides focusing on water, electricity, roads, health and education as the most five important sectors of economic welfare, has laid emphasis on providing solution to the unemployment issue.
