Penang State in Malaysia invited investment from India into the State. Dr.P.Ramasamy, Deputy Chief Minister of Penang on his visit to Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu met the business people and signed an MOU with Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in Coimbatore today evening.He offered transparent open tender and investment friendly atmosphere to the investors. He called for environment friendly investment in Science and Technology, Bio-Technology and Education sectors. The government wants the state to be greener and limited the use of plastics. He clarified that his government has managed to attract 10.2 Million Malaysian Ringgit in last two years since they came to power in 2008. The Penang government is contributing 30 percent GNP(Gross National Product) of Malayasian economy. He said that his government is very much interested in Indian investment and he along with his Chief Minister will soon visit Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore to attract more investors.
