The host countries of the 2011 Cricket World Cup may get to play the quarterfinal and semifinal matches in their home country if their teams reach those stages. This was recommended by ICC Chief Executives' Committee to the ICC Board in a meeting held in Dubai on Tuesday. According to a statement of ICC, where two co-hosts are involved, the higher-ranked side from the group stage will host the match. This recommendation will now be considered by the Board. The quarterfinal stage of the mega event, to be co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, will begin from 23 March next year.Meanwhile, a five-member committee has been formed to look into the context for Test and One-day cricket formats post 2012 Future Tour Programme, which also has BCCI Secretary N Sriniwasan. The CEC also received an update report on the decision review system (DRS) which was implemented in the Dunedin and Brisbane Tests and will also be used in South Africa.
