Sikkim 'Red' defeated Assam 2-0 in their last Group A league match to reach the semifinals of first Pempa Dorji Memorial All India Women's Football Championship at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok yesterday evening. Skipper Nima Lhamu Bhutia scored both goals for the local team. In a Group B encounter, Orissa thrashed Sikkim 'Green' 6-0 to storm into the semifinals. The first semifinal will be played tomorrow between Manipur and West Bengal, while Sikkim 'Red' will lock horns with Orissa in the other last four match a day after tomorrow.
