The marathon polling for the world's biggest democratic elections will come to an end tomorrow after a high voltage and one of the most bitter campaigns in recent history.
The final round tomorrow involves remaining 41 out of the total 543 Lok Sabha seats. These includes 17 seats in West Bengal, 18 seats in Uttar Pradesh and six seats in Bihar.
In Uttar Pradesh all arrangements are in place the poll bound 18 constituencies of Domariyaganj, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushi Nagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Ghosi, Salempur, Ballia, Jaunpur, Machhlishahr, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Robertsganj.
A total of 328 candidates including 14 women are in fray in the state. Above 19 thousand 800 polling stations are being set up and about 1 lakhs 50 thousand poll personnel are deployed to conduct the voting. About 600 companies of Central Para Military forces and State Police have been deployed for impartial voting.
Electoral fate of several bigwigs including BJP leader Narendra Modi, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra and Yogi Aditya Nath and Union Minister RPN Singh will be decided in tomorrow`s polling.
In Bihar, elaborate security arrangements have been made for free, fair and peaceful voting in the 6 seats going to polls tomorrow. Most of the polling parties and security personnel have already reached their respective destinations. Polling will take place in Valmikinagar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Vaishali, Gopalganj and Siwan constituencies.
In West Bengal, elections will be held in 17 Parliamentary seats covering 7 districts North and South 24 Paraganas, Nadia, Murshidabad, East and West Midnapur and in Kolkata. The State Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Sunil Gupta said that all arrangements have been completed to ensure free and fair voting. Polling personnel have already started reaching to their destinations. Over 2 crore 55 lakh 75 thousand electorate will determine the political fate of 188 candidates. More than 31 thousand polling booths have been set up in the 7 districts. Unprecedented security arrangements have been made for peaceful polling.
