It is a clash of the titans in the Chikkaballapura Parliamentary constituency bordering Bangalore in Karnataka.

The sitting MP and Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily faces former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of the JD(S).

A Minister in the previous BJP government, Bache Gowda is also in the fray. Out of eight Assembly segments, the Congress has won in five, JD(S) two and BJP retained one in last elections held in May.

Independent MLA from Bagepalli had joined the Congress recently. AIR Correspondent says that water is the core issue in this constituency.
