Former Lok Sabha Speaker Somanth Chatterjee said in Kolkata that the stand taken by Mamata Banerjee over transfer of officials by the Election Commission has created a constitutional crisis.

He said it has set a bad precedent and should be resolved immediately.

Chatterjee said according to the Constitution, once the elections are declared, the Election Commission has every right to transfer officials if its feel so.
