As many as 5067 Gram Nyayalayas will be set up in the country in the near future. Disclosing this Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily said in Vadodra that under the Gram Nyayalaya, mobile courts, with the powers of judicial magistrate would be set up at Panchayat level.He said after the Gram Nyayalaya Act came into force on October 2, 2009, 144 village-level courts have been set up.Moily said, the Central Government has decided to meet the non-recurring expenditure on the establishment of these Gram Nyayalayas subject to a ceiling of 18 lakh rupees.
