50 Shramik Specials carrying migrant workers depart from Maharashtra

<span style="color: #222222;">Around 50 trains ran from various stations in Maharashtra carrying migrant workers to their home states. The Western Railways ran 20 while the Central Railways 27 till Tuesday mignight.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that due to the ongoing face-off between the Maharashtra government and the Railway Ministry, Mumbai saw heavy crowding of migrant workers outside two main railway stations in the city.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Over 10,000 migrant labours were seen outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharraj Terminuss while over 15000 workers were stranded outside Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at Kurla. The police faced a hard time dispersing the workers till late in the night, which included old people, women and children.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had tweeted that Railways had planned 145 trains for Tuesday but only 13 trains could be run due to lack of passengers. On request of Maharashtra government 145 Shramik Special Trains were ready since morning. Nearly 7.5 lakh migrant labourers were ferried to their respective home states in more than 500 shramik special trains from the state.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra Police informed that in last 24 hours, 75 police personnel have tested positive for COVID19 have been reported. Total number of positive cases in Maharashtra Police rise to 1964 with death toll at 20. Total 849 personnel have recovered and 1095 cases are active.</span>
