In Somalia, at least 50 people have been killed in three days of Islamist insurgents attacks in the capital Mogadishu. City Mayor Abdurisaq Mohamed Nor has told residents to leave the capital's war zones amid fierce battles with insurgents. <br/><br/>He said the long-anticipated government offensive may start soon and so residents should withdraw at least 2 kilometres. <br/><br/>According to reports, this is the heaviest fighting since May 2009, when insurgents tried to topple the weak UN-backed government. <br/><br/>The United Nations Refugee Agency estimates that some 33,000 people have been driven from their homes in Mogadishu over the past six weeks.
