US President Barack Obama has announced a pledge by 50 nations to take in three lakh 60 thousand refugees from war-torn countries this year. <br/><br/>Opening a summit on refugees at the United Nations, Obama praised Germany and Canada among other countries that have opened up their doors to those fleeing conflicts zones like Syria. <br/><br/>He said, the world is facing a crisis of epic proportion as about 21 million refugees have been forced to flee their countries due to conflict or persecution.<br/> <br/>President Obama said the international community cannot avert its eyes from the crisis. He said, the refugee crisis is a test of the international system where all nations ought to share in their collective responsibilities.
