<span style="color: #222222;">50 percent of Group B and C employees of government departments may now work from home, and remaining 50 percent are required to attend the office. An office memorandum issued by Department of Personnel and Training, DoPT, today advised all heads of departments to draft weekly roaster of duty for Group B and C staff and ask them to attend office on alternate weeks. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It said, while deciding the roaster for the first week, heads of departments have been advised to include officials residing in close proximity to their office or use their own transport to commute to office.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' DoPT said, the working hours for all employees, who attend office on a particular day, should be staggered. It suggested that 3 group of employees may be formed and asked to attend the office as per the timings, 9 AM to 5.30 PM, 9.30 AM to 6 PM and 10 AM to 6.30 PM. The officials, who are working from home on a particular day as per roaster, should be available on telephone and electronic means of communication at all times. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">They should attend office, if called for any exigency of work. DoPT said, similar instructions may be issued to attached or subordinate offices and autonomous or statutory bodies. It said, the Department of Financial Services and Department of Public Enterprises will issue similar instructions regarding Financial Institutions and public sector undertakings.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' In the Office Memorandum, DoPT said, the instructions shall not apply to the offices and employees engaged in essential or emergency services and those directly engaged in taking measures to control spread of COVID-19.
