Mr Ahluwalia said, the agriculture sector has performed better in the 11th plan but the 4 percent growth rate target in this sector can not be achieved. He said, water will be one of the main issues, besides other important sectors like energy and employment generation. Mr. Ahluwalia expressed concern over excess exploitation of ground water. He said, India will be the third largest economy in the next 20 years after China and the United States.
