Five wrestlers, including a national level medal winner, have been found to be positive in the first test by National Anti-Doping Agency, NADA. A report sent by the agency after the National Wrestling Championships staged at Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, says that five wrestlers – Mukesh Kumar, Balraj, Sukhwinder, 55 Kg. category; Jitender, 74 Kg, all free style category; and another Wrestler in Greeko Roman category – Manish, 60 Kg. could not pass the dope test.
All the Wrestlers who came at the first three places in all the weight categories in both Greeko Roman and free style categories are at present taking part in the National camp at SAI in the Sonipat District of Haryana. Reports say all the five Wrestlers who failed the first doping test have been removed from the camp. They will be subjected to a second dope test. If they are found to be positive at this stage also the Indian Wrestling Federation will take action against them.
