In Assam, five militants belonging to National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) were apprehended by security forces during a joint operation in the run-up to the Independence Day in Goalpara district today. Police sources in Goalpara said, acting on a tip-off a joint team of the police, army and CRPF launched an operation in Dhupdhara and Dudhnoi areas of the district since last night.They apprehended three militants from Dhupdhara and two from Dudhnoi.The security forces also recovered a .32 revolver, six rounds of live ammunition, five kgs of improvised explosive device (IED) and several metres of fuse wire.
