A five-member team of the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, on Tuesday visited Bhatta-Parsaul villages in Greater Noida to probe violence after farmers clashed with police protesting against acquisition of their lands earlier this month. According to the Commission, a team under Senior Superintendent of Police Viplav Chaudhary has been sent to Bhatta-Parsaul in Uttar Pradesh. Besides Mr Chaudhary, there are four other members which include two DSPs and two Inspectors. The team will submit its report after meeting with the villagers and other concerned. It will also take stock of the post-violence situation in these villages.The NHRC had on 12th of this month said it will send an investigation team in Bhatta-Parsaul after looking into the sensitivity of the issue. Four people, including two policemen, were killed in farmers-police clashes and firing in Bhatta-Parsaul villages on May 7.
