In<b> </b>Karnataka, Health and Medical Education Minister Dr.K. Sudhakar has said that five lakh health care and frontline workers in the state have been vaccinated for COVID-19 so far.<br />''<br />'' Addressing students at the Graduation Day Ceremony of the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in Bengaluru today, the Minister said that it is a matter of great pride that India could develop and manufacture a vaccine for COVID-19 within 10 months. <br />''<br />''He emphasised that the health sector will be a major focus area in the upcoming state budget to be presented next month. He informed that it is the government's dream to create healthy Karnataka by creating advanced health care facilities in rural areas. He spoke about the initiative to revamp and upgrade the Primary Health Centres which are the building blocks of our public health care system.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Saying that the Union Budget has allocated Rs 2.3 lakh crore for the health care sector, the Minister noted that this is an increase of 137 per cent over previous year. He said that young medical professionals should come forward to serve in rural areas.</span><br />
