Torrential rains took a heavy toll on Mumbai and its suburbs on Monday. At least five people are feared dead and numerous others injured in various rain related incidents that drenched Mumbai on Monday.One person lost his life while three others were injured in the landslide near Haji Ali in central Mumbai this afternoon. Meanwhile a couple lost their life in a landslide in Navi Mumbai’s Rabale area. In Mumbai’s neighbouring Thane district, one person died in a landslide while another was washed away.Meanwhile, rains have taken a halt and normalcy is slowly being restored. Train services along all the three routes; Central, Western and Harbor and currently running with some delays. Road traffic is also getting back to normal with water clearing from crowded and low lying area of Hindmata, Milan subway, Vileparle, Dadar, Andheri, Kurla, Santacruz, Vikhroli, Chembur, Sion, Parel. Air traffic is also running per schedule.The Met department has said that some parts of Mumbai and its suburbs will witness intermittent rains, while some area will receive heavy rains accompanied by strong gusty winds in the next 24 hours.
