In Somalia, at least five people have been killed and 17 others injured after shootout erupted in the capital Mogadishu. The shootout broke out today as thousands held peace rally in the government-controlled part of the restive Somali capital Mogadishu. Head of Mogadishu emergency service said at least five people were killed in the shooting at the rally and the 17 people wounded were taken to different hospitals in the capital. Witnesses said people panicked and run to every direction as the shooting began and many people fell to the ground. It was not immediately clear what triggered the exchanges of fire. The Somali government expressed sadness at the death and injury of the civilians who were carrying out peaceful rally in support of unity and stability. Officials said they were investigating as to what happened at the rally.
