The Supreme Court today said, its five-judge Constitution Bench will sit next week on the 18th and 19th to hear matters relating to Aadhaar, including the aspect of right to privacy.<br/><br/>A bench, headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar, said this as it was hearing three separate petitions challenging the Centre's notification making Aadhaar mandatory for various public welfare schemes. Attorney General KK Venugopal and senior advocate Shyam Divan, appearing for the petitioners, requested for an early hearing by the Constitution Bench.<br/><br/>Earlier this month, a three-judge bench had said, all issues arising out of Aadhaar should finally be decided by a larger bench and the Chief Justice will take a call on the need for setting up a Constitution Bench.<br/><br/>The apex court had, last month, refused to pass an interim order against the Centre's notification, with the government assuring it that no one would be deprived for want of this identification.
